The Australian High Commissioner to Tonga, HE Mr Andrew Ford presented Statements of Completion to the 17 trainees who completed the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Course conducted by APTC and funded by Tonga Skills. The six-weeks training commenced in September 2017 and was conducted in three blocks of two weeks each. The last block was completed today, Friday 2nd February 2018. The training focused on improving lesson planning, classroom and pedagogical practices, and assessment and evaluation of students. There was a specific focus on the delivery of practical ‘competency-based training’ to better prepare trainees for the world of work. Trainees were selected from 10 training providers involved in skills development. A representative of the trainees commented on the impact of the training:
“we have learnt a lot so I cautioned my Director to be prepared to be impressed by what we have learnt”
The official graduation for these trainees is scheduled for September of this year when they join graduands from other APTC programs in Tonga to receive their Certificates.
