Bone and Wood Carving training

Bone and Wood Carving training started on Monday 30th October 2017. These trainers are brothers and one of them was a participant in the pearl carving training sponsored by Tonga Skills in July. His experience at the pearl carving gave him the idea to organise and run this training for the youths in the villages to gain some economic benefits from carving bones and wood. There were 12 trainees, two of whom have physical disabilities. The two-week training ended with a display on the last day, to showcase all the products that the trainees have produced during training. For those who may need to start a business after the training Tonga Skills may support them by engaging business coaches for more targeted training.
