12 participants completed the 8th International John Maxwell Leadership Course facilitated by Katrina Ma’u Fatiaki, the only certified local facilitator in Tonga, with certificates awarded after six weeks of training. With support from Tonga Skills, the course has been accredited with the Tonga National Qualifications and Accreditation Board (TNQAB) and Katrina is in the process of registering as a nationally recognised training provider.
The John Maxwell Leadership Programme is about developing leadership and and focusses on the “15 invaluable laws of growth”. John Maxwell, a renowned leadership and management expert, encourages discovery of individual and organisational potential through the areas of Self-awareness, Character, Skills, Relationships and Spiritual development. A mastermind group of like-minded emerging Tongan leaders was selected to undertake the training.

Mrs. Katrina Fatiaki said “the course provides a safe space for participants to share their leadership journeys and add value to others’ growth process. No one else [in Tonga] is really offering this opportunity for people to talk about how they are learning and applying the principles of effective leadership and management”.
