Skills development program launched in Tonga

Scope Global has recently been selected to manage the Australian Government’s five-year Tonga Skills for Inclusive Economic Growth program. Tonga Skills will work to improve economic outcomes for individuals and businesses across Tonga, including those who are disadvantaged.

In late January the Australian High Commissioner, H.E. Andrew Ford and the CEO of the Ministry of Education and Training, Claude Tupou, officially launched the Tonga Skills Inception Workshop.

The workshop brought together stakeholders from across Tonga’s skills sector, including training institutions, industry representatives, government officers from national and divisional levels, and NGOs – particularly those focused on disability inclusion and women’s affairs.

The Team Leader of the Program is the Tongan education and training specialist, Dr Uhila Moe-langi Fasi.
