Tonga Skills facilitated the second Skills Sector Steering Committee (SSSC) Meeting on the 20th March at the Tanoa International Hotel. The meeting was chaired by the CEO of MEIDECC, on behalf of the appointed Chairman, the Minister for MEIDECC, Hon. Poasi Mataele Tei who was engaged in post-Gita recovery planning. Industry, government and the private sector were well represented, reflecting the increasing recognition of the importance of the skills sector for national development. The SSSC meets every six months and the next meeting is planned to take place in Vava’u in October this year.
