The Tonga Association of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TATVET) recently held a meeting at the Tonga Skills office.
Present were representatives from 7 of the training organisations in Tonga as well as 2 staff from VSA (Volunteer Service Abroad).
Diane Thorne – George from New Zealand’s VSA discussed with the principals how volunteers hosted by Tonga Skills can assist new teachers to improve their skills – so they are better able to teach adults and people with disabilities. The school principals were very positive about the value of this volunteer and pleased to learn more about VSA.
In future, Tonga Skills will host TATVET’s quarterly meetings at our office – we are very excited to support the key role of TATVET members in improving the quality of training provided in Tonga.
